SHOES!

What is it about shoes that makes us girls swoon? Most of us can be walking down the street and if we pass a shoe store we can't help but crack our necks lol. Anything from Stilettos to sandals to wedges to combat boots and we want them all! Even if you don't often wear that type of shoe, ya still want it and make excuses in your head for how and when you can wear them. I am not someone who goes out often or gets dressed up much but I love pumps and I love boots with a heel..I also have plenty of both, and they barely get worn. But I wouldn't give them up. The only time I give away my shoes (besides sneakers) is when the style doesn't appeal to me anymore or when I have just had them for so long and haven't worn them much that it doesn't make sense to have them occupy space another shoe can have. Most of us dream of a walk-in closet like Carrie's in the Sex And The City Movie (you know the one) just so that we can display our shoes like works of art. We tolerate uncomfortable shoes (sometimes) just because we are in love with a show. Is it because they make our legs look so good? They give our butts a lift? They give our outfit a little sex appeal? Whatever the reason, it is an addiction..but a good one ;-)

The 5 Hour Marathon

As I am writing this I am on the bus to NY from Atlantic City, where last night I had one of the best concert experiences ever. My sister and I attended the "25th Anniversary of Freestyle Concert" at the Trump Taj Mahal. Pretty much every Freestyle artist you can think of was there. It was so exciting to watch Stevie B, George Lamond, T.K.A., Lisa Lisa, Lissette Melendez, Corina...and well every performance was kind of great honestly. We had been waiting so long to attend a Freestyle event and I'm so glad our first one was this concert. And I must admit I get excited at every concert I attend. Sometimes to the point that I want to cry of happiness. Yes, music has that effect on me. I'm weird, so what? Haha.
This definitely ranks as one of my favorite concerts though. The music is just so pure and true, and honestly sometimes I wish I would've been alive 10 years sooner so that I could have enjoyed the 80's and 90's music that I like so much at its prime. I don't find the music of today as heartwarming. Most songs on the radio today are about sex, lust and money. We need to bring back and keep alive the music that comes from the heart. At the concert last night, as I was looking around I saw people from different cultures and all ages. It's a beautiful thing when music can bring all kinds of people together. My only gripe about the people last night were the drunk guidos. That isn't so relevant to my story here because there are always annoying people in a big crowd but I had to put that out there.
I really wish that there were new artists emerging in Freestyle and Dance. The old-schoolers are definitely still doing their thing and trust me they still look good. A lot of them still move the same and sound exactly the same so by no means am I saying they should stop. But I do think it's time for new voices to be heard, and for new fans to be captured. I won't let it die.

Here's a short list of some of my fave songs in case you are interested to take a listen:
1. Stevie B. - I Wanna Be The One
2. Stevie B. - Spring Love
3. Corina - Temptation
4. George Lamond - Where Does That Leave Love?
5. Cover Girls - Show Me
6. Noel - Silent Morning
7. Lisette Melendez - Together Forever
8. Judy Torres - Come Into My Arms
9. T.K.A. - Sending All My Love
10. T.K.A. - Maria

Some Questions For You.

Why is it that when we are in a relationship we can't hang out with our friends as often? Or maybe not how we used to? (By friends I mean the ones who are the same sex that we are attracted to) Why is it that we always assume someone is trying to put the moves on our boyfriend/girlfriend? Is it that our insecurity creeps in and makes us second-guess the relationship? Are we so jaded by our past that we can't fully trust who we are with?
Now, I'll admit that I don't have a lot of experience in relationships so maybe these questions seem weird. I just think that there are a lot of rules that people play into that don't apply to every relationship. Games that people play just because it's what they have been taught to do in the past. Any ideas?

Closed Minds Don't Get Fed

I'm not sure if it's just me..but sometimes I really feel like I don't know people who have my same interests. Sure, people say to invite them when you want to go out certain places or when you want to try new things but I still end up doing a lot on my own. When I want to see a movie, try a new restaurant, take a dance class, or see a musical I find myself wondering who could possibly be interested. I find it to be a shame that I don't get to try all the things I want to because it simply wouldn't be as fun by myself. What's up with the people that only like to eat at the same restaurants? See the same kind of movies? And a night out involves their favorite club or bar and drinking? Maybe it's because I'm a Gemini and I get bored easily but I feel like I want to explore and do more with my free time. So even though it's likely I will continue to do things on my own, I am going to enjoy learning and exploring.

Marketing Power

I cannot watch a Kit-Kat commercial without craving one afterwards. Smh.
