Hip-Hop Today..

So, I've been procrastinating on this next post because I wanted to write about something besides music..well I shouldn't fight it - it's the only thing I can think about!
I wanna touch on the state of "Hip-Hop" today..it's practically dead. I was watching this show called "Shaken Not Stirred" which is hosted by Anthony Anderson, Paul Rodriguez, DL Hughley and John Salley. Ice-T was the guest and he had some things to say that I definitely agree with.
Today we have a lot of "ringtone" rappers and i've read some articles that say 50 Cent is one and honestly I'm a fan of his music..he makes music I can dance to and he's a pretty funny dude. But how about Souljah Boy? I'm not really into his music..he's not saying a damn thing. Flo-Rida, his music is catchy but does he really have to sample EACH one of his songs???? I mean he needs to come with something original cause that's what will get him some respect.
Ice-T was saying that we need to go back to the days when music was about change. Hip-Hop came about as a form of expression. An outlet for the frustration we face in everyday life. I agree that we need music like Public Enemy, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One, etc..
Anyway, I know there's a lot of potential out there and a lot of people who have something to say besides how many cars they want and how bitches wanna get with them..I didn't think that fad in Hip-Hop would last as long as it has..I mean I listen to a lot of different rappers but remember when Cam'ron used to actually rap? Now he does nursery rhymes..
Below are some videos..and if you have any feedback on this post leave a comment! And teach me something!

My Songs For The Moment

So, on my iPod I have a 'recently added' list and these next songs are the ones that I keep playing over and over and over..I'm sure I'll get tired of them in about a week or two but for now I'll look forward to dancing to them around in my room while I annoy my neighbors singing out loud..

Do not sleep on Drake..he is a cutie and he sings and raps. Also you might remember him from a little show called Degrassi where he played Jimmy.
Drake - Best I Ever Had

I cannot stop listening to this song! And the video is sooo sexy..sidenote: Ciara is one of my faves
Ciara - Love & Sex & Magic

I'd heard about Adele a lot before I actually heard her and I adore her voice..Had to put a live video on here cause the album version does no justice..
Adele - Melt My Heart To Stone

For this next one I can do without Lil Wayne on the track cause frankly I'm tired of him lol
Keri Hilson - Turning Me On
