Confusion

Guys can say all the want about how confusing girls are - I'll admit I can be confusing - but they need to own up to it too. Im sitting here wondering how can someone say they will always have feelings for me and that they miss me but then want me to move on. Wouldnt it hurt them to see me moved on with someone else? Happy and sharing the things we once did, and could still if they wanted.. does that make them a masochist?
I guess i can understand that if things between us werent going to turn out as we once hoped, it is better for us both to move on. And we should be happy for each other if we care so much about one another. But all that talk about about him missing me, and all the things we did together doesnt help me to believe i should move on. It unfortunately gives me hope. Even though i successfully go through my days now without spending half of it thinking about him, he still pops up at times.
Oh well, ish happens just gotta keep going forward.

More Shine

Despite a few minor upsets on Saturday I ended up having a pretty good weekend. Friday night I stayed home and successfully hemmed my new jeans so that I could wear them on Saturday. I also finished watching Disc 2 of the first season of "California Dreams". I've taken up catching up on old shows I used to watch when I was a kid thanks to Netflix.
Saturday started off okay..I met up with my friend Carlos and took some clothes to a consignment shop which didn't want to buy anything at all from me. That was a disappointment considering the shoes I was currently wearing were hurting my feet and even chafed them up a little. Thankfully I was able to go to one of my favorite stores - Peachfrog - and bought a pair of flip flops which saved my life. After the stores we went to Fort Greene Park to catch a performance by one of our favorite bands Si*Se. It was a free concert put together by One Fokus and we got there in time to watch Pattern Is Movement perform before Si*Se. At one point I was upset at Carlos because the lead singer Carol C. had actually walked by us as we sat on the grass and I definitely wanted to meet her. Luckily for me after their very wonderful performance I was able to take a picture with Carol and get her autograph. I know I'm such a groupie lol, but the girl is truly talented and is the sweetest little thing ever! After the performance we parted ways since I was off to a surprise birthday party for my sister's friend. One of the best parts of my night was definitely the food. The barbecue chicken was good, and my mother's potato salad was delicious! The Dominican birthday cake was also great, I had half of my piece before I went to bed as I was too stuffed after dinner to eat it.
Sunday started off with me waking up late. I don't know why lately but I rarely make it out of bed before 1pm, and I hate it because on Monday I have to be up around 6am. Thankfully my sister agreed to go watch "Eat, Pray, Love" since staying at home definitely sounded boring. The movie was very good in my opinion, well worth the hype it has built up. Afterwards we had Thai food, and stopped by a bakery to get some goodies. We had to walk home from the train in the rain which wasn't so bad but it was a little windy this weekend so I am just hoping I don't catch a cold.

Confession

Okay fine, I'll admit that I kind of wish I were dating someone. Or at least getting to know someone. It's nice to have someone you like and look forward to talking to. But no, I am not looking. I'm fine just riding the waves right now.

New York City

It kind of sucks to live in New York City. Sometimes. Don't get me wrong I love my City, I was born and raised here and quite possibly want to die of old age here too. It's just so difficult to enjoy all the beauty and amenities this City has to offer when you spend all your time working, and then after work you only have time to eat dinner and shower before you have to get back to sleep and do it all over again. Everyone who comes here seems to think that all New Yorkers have been to the Empire State Building, up the Statue of Liberty, have gone to a Broadway show, or that we hang out at Central Park and Times Square all the time..granted, I have done some of these things but I really wish I had the time to do them more often. There's just so much to do! and see! I do try and find new things to do and places to see so that when my weekends are free I can have something exciting to do. Over the past year I have gone into exploring parts of Brooklyn I hadn't been to before, and I ended up discovering two of my favorite places to shop =-) but I can definitely do more to get to know my City better. We really need to put on our tourist goggles once in a while and appreciate all the things that make up our City.
